Software Removal

Many users have unnecessary software on their computers. This includes "toolbars," "searchbars," "media viewers," or even software that they wanted to get rid of a long time ago, they just didn't know how to remove it. Many of these programs also create a security threat (not all of them are a security risk, many are well written, and include no spyware). If you want to check for software on your computer that you may not want, here is a basic tutorial.

Some specific programs to watch out for are MyWay searchbar, Weatherbug, and My Comet Cursor.

Also, some specific "Internet Explorer Plugins" not to remove are Adobe Reader, any Adobe "players," and Adobe Download Manager.

To remove unwanted software, follow these instructions.

1>Goto the Control Panel

2>Now click on ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS

3>Select a program to remove. In this case, I don't have a program I need to remove, so I will select the one at the top there. Now Click REMOVE

4>Now follow the instructions in the wizard that pops up. After you're done, restart your computer.
