It is always a good idea to have up-to-date security software. This page is to help you decide which solution is right for you.

McAfee

McAfee is a trusted security solution, providing an entire suite of security software, including an excellent anti-spyware program, however, we wouldn't recommend using the new version of McAfee unless you have at least 1GB of RAM on your computer. If you don't have enough RAM on your computer to run the security suite, you can purchase the McAfee Anti-Spyware separately - an action highly recommended, since it is arguably the best anti-spyware solution on the market.

Symantec
(Norton)

Symantec also has an excellent security suite, however they do not have an anti-spyware solution. Norton is recommended more for multiple computers, but is almost as easy to use on just one machine.

Other Solutions

Many customers, especially those with older computers, cannot justify the annual expense of security software, and this is understandable. For them, there is a free solution. AVG Antivirus and Ad-Aware Anti-Spyware are probably the two best free solutions.
